HISTORYContinental Semences had its origins several generations ago - in 1874 Luigi Guarnieri started to select and clean forage seeds produced in the hilly area south of Parma.
Each following generation has expanded and diversified the business, always ready to detect changes in market trends and customers’ requirements and to adopt new selection techniques.
In the 1930s Giacomo Guarnieri - one of Luigi’s sons - was the first in the area to adopt the innovative method of electromagnetic selection of alfalfa and red clover.
In the 1970s Carlo and Riccardo - Giacomo’s sons - expanded the traditional business of forage seeds by starting to select and commercialize also amenity seeds in order to satisfy the requirements of an increasing number of customers.
OGGINowadays Carlo’s sons and doughters, have taken over the family business and operate on the national and international market, importing and exporting seeds in five continents.
The company is based in Traversetolo where the operations of stocking and packing seeds are carried out on a covered surface of over 40,000 square meters altogether. Besides, the company avails itself of several farms, both in Italy and abroad, for its research and the multiplication of its certified varieties.
